Lucky 13: Don’t miss out on this season!

We’re excited to announce the music lineup for 2015-2016 Nocona Nights Music Series, our 13th year of highly acclaimed dinner concerts.  For this season we’ve also added several special events.

  • We’ll open the season with a special “Thank You, Patrons” House Concert Oct. 15 featuring The Rifters at The V, Nocona VFW.
  • Because last year’s two-day Nocona Nights’ Music Festival was such a success, we’ve scheduled it again featuring Bob Livingston, Charlie Robison, Davin James, and Cooder Graw.
  • Justin Frizzell’s Texas Red Dirt Radio Show comes to The Veranda Event Center on Nov. 15. Tommy Alverson, Max Stalling, and Matt Hillyer will share their songs and stories. The show will be broadcast live on 95.9 The Ranch.
  • Cowboy Glam will be the dress as Gary P. Nunn will return for this year’s Cowboy Christmas Ball Dec. 12.

Prices of season packages remain the same as last year. First priority will be given to last year’s patrons.  Any extra tickets will then be offered to patrons who want to buy tickets for guests. Patrons will have until Aug 15 to contact Nell Ann McBroom, Nocona Chamber of Commerce, and confirm their season package.

New patron season packages will be offered after Aug.15 on a first-come-first-served basis if there are any available.

All in all, it’s a season you don’t want to miss!

Gary P. Nunn starring at Nocona Nights’ Cowboy Christmas Ball 2014

Gary P. will headline our Cowboy Christmas Ball on Saturday, December 13, 2014.  This event will be held at “The V”, the VFW at 100 Baylor Street, Nocona.  It’s a new beautiful building adding to the music scene in Nocona.  Doors open at 6; dinner about 6:30; concert about 7:15.  Unfortunately tickets have been sold out to Patrons/Season Ticket Holders.

If you’ve been following Nocona Nights, you’ve seen the array of outstanding entertainers we’ve featured here.  If you wish to be a part of this next year, call the Nocona Chamber of Commerce at 940 825 3526 or email nellann@nocona.org to get your name on the waiting list for next year.  For the last eight years we’ve sold out a year in advance to Patrons, so get on the list early if you’d like to enjoy the finest Texas music north of Austin.

Here’s a short bio of Gary P.:

Gary P. Nunn has been TAKING TEXAS TO THE COUNTRY and Texas country to the world for some 40 years now, establishing himself as an icon of Lone Star music. A founding father of the progressive country movement out of Austin in the 1970s that changed the face of popular music, Nunn is also an independent music pioneer who continues to oversee his own record label and song publishing companies, manage his own career (with the help of his wife Ruth), and play most every weekend at top music venues throughout Texas and beyond. His composition “London Homesick Blues” — with its internationally known “I wanna go home with the Armadillo” chorus — is a signature Texas country song that was the theme for the PBS concert TV show “Austin City Limits” for nearly three decades. It’s no wonder that All Music Guide hails him as “a Texas music institution.”
