Bio

Humble beginnings, a cultivated work ethic and the influences of classic country legends, synchronized together in perfect harmony, make up singer-songwriter from the West Texas Plains, Randall King.
Growing up a fourth generation hay-hauler, many of King’s songs are written and inspired by his deep southern heritage and family roots.
King was raised listening to the rich and soulful, classic country voices of Keith Whitley, George Strait and Alan Jackson, to name a few, which helped create King’s musical style into what many have described as neo-traditional country. “Randall King remains to the heart and soul of country music, but no doubt brings his own unique brand to the genre,” says hit songwriter Mark Nesler (co-writer of “Just To See You Smile” by Tim McGraw, “You Look Good In My Shirt” by Keith Urban).
With a sound rooted in tradition and songwriting that showcases honesty, conviction and authenticity, King connects with fans on all emotional levels. “Randall King has a great voice that sounds classic, yet is fresh and as a songwriter he actually has something to say – be it something that touches your heart or something simple and fun that makes you wanna get out and raise some hell.” said multi-award-winning and critically acclaimed singer-songwriter Anthony Smith (co-writer of “Run” & “Cowboys Like Us” by George Strait).
Unlike the west Texas wind, King is a grounded and talented singer-songwriter who is sure to stay. “There’s a lot of people that want country music to come back around, and there’s a lot of people that will say you have to sell out and play radio hits to make it. I think for me I want to make my stamp as an artist with this record, that I can be me and still make an impact across the country.

Art of the Song Festival Fantastic Success!

Three days of music and art! See our Facebook page for many photos and nice comments. Thanks to the City of Nocona, the Chamber of Commerce, and the Chisholm Trail Art Association for all the dedication to make this a great annual event.
A Nocona Nights favorite performer , Tommmy Alverson summed it up best:

“I’ve been doing Nocona Nights for 17 years now. We were the first band to play it. Since then Nocona has invested in itself over and over and it is now really something special. New business folks have taken a leap of faith and have succeeded in a big way! Thanks to Wr Tucker, James Fegnolio and the whole Fegnolio Family, Clint And Dee Brown, and the whole town and everyone involved in the Nocona magic! It is a way of life! Thanks to mi comprades Matt Hillyer, Josh Grider and his lovely wife Christy, Mike Blakely, Susan Gibson, and the Great Johnny Bush! Thx also to Nocona VFW, Red River Pizzeria, the Veranda. And last but not least Don MacLaughlin for the incredible portraits. It was just an awesome weekend and we are very blessed to be a part of it!“

Nocona Nights’ Art of the Song Music Festival October 11-13, 2019

Now is the time to make plans for a fun and exciting event-filled weekend full of music and art. It may be the biggest and best art and music event in North Texas and Southern Oklahoma!

Start off your Friday October 11th at noon with an “Art Stroll” in downtown Nocona, Texas. Inspect the judged art show at the new H.J. Justin Building at 100 Clay. Visit other downtown art galleries featuring noted western and portrait artist Don McLaughlin, and Texas State Artist nominee L. G. Lemons, and enjoy music and original art in each. Another highlight of the weekend will be a Beer and Wine Garden at Red River Pizza featuring our Nocona Nights’ musicians Tommy Alverson and Matt Hillyer from 4 to 5:30.

The day is capped off with a 6 PM dinner and concert by music legend Johnny Bush at the Veranda Inn Event Center. A limited number of tickets are still available.

On Saturday plan for a “Bloody ‘Merry’ Morning” at the VFW featuring Tommy Alverson, and continued art show and performances at the Justin Building and downtown businesses and art galleries. Further highlights of Saturday include Josh Grider, Mike Blakely, and Susan Gibson, all famous Texas singer/songwriters, performing at 3:30 at the Justin Building followed by the Art Show awards at 5:30 there.

Finally on Saturday at 6 PM join the Nocona Nights Dinner Concert at the Veranda with all these same performers putting on a fantastic show. A limited number of tickets are still available. Winning art work will be displayed there.

It doesn’t end here! Noted bands will be performing after the Nocona Nights Concerts at the Nocona Beer and Brewery and the VFW

On Sunday morning a city-wide pancake breakfast served by the VFW and good old gospel singing will take place in the Mary Beckman Davis Park downtown at 9 AM.

As if that’s not enough, the Justin Frazzell Red Dirt Roads Radio Show will be held Sunday from 3 to 6 PM at the VFW. Featured Texas musicians will be performing in a live broadcast on 95.9 FM.

All day events are free and all Nocona Nights’ Dinner and Concerts are included in the Patron packages. Tickets are available and are $100 per person for Friday and Saturday dinner concerts. For further details and to obtain tickets see the Nocona Nights website at http://www.nocona-nights.org and the Nocona Nights Facebook page, or email Nocona Nights at noconanights@gmail.com.
