Many of you already know, but in case you aren’t aware, W.R. passed away Thursday afternoon, May 12^th.  

W.R. was the founder of Nocona Nights, and with the help of Patti has been its inspiration and guidance for the last 20 years.  His idea created one of the most successful and long-running entertainment venues in North Texas, enjoyed by so many of us over the years.

He was the music producer and talent scout for the shows, booking the best performers from Texas and New Mexico.  They considered it an honor to be invited by W.R. to come to Nocona to perform.  He had a great reputation in the Texas music scene.

We all owe him a debt of gratitude for his creativity and for providing us with many wonderful years of entertainment; introducing us to musicians we may never have heard before.

Next season, our 20^th year, will be dedicated to his memory.

Save the Date! “Art of the Song Festival” – 

October 14-16th, 2022

Nocona Nights is celebrating 20 years of bringing the hottest musical acts to Nocona. And with this celebration, we are joining with the Chisholm Trail Art Association and the Nocona Chamber of Commerce and bringing back the popular “Art of the Song Festival” on Saturday and Sunday, October 15 and 16.

Plans are still being finalized but the musical acts are set Michael Hearne, SXSW, Shake Russell, and Jimmy Stadler. There will be a Saturday afternoon music event, art show and awards at The Justin Building located in historic downtown Nocona. Sunday, October 16 will feature an all-community Gospel Singing in the downtown park and more.

The downtown music and art show is free to the public to attend. So,make plans to enjoy the “Art of the Song Festival” as Nocona Nights celebrates 20-years of bringing Texas music to Nocona.

Our scheduled Nocona Nights dinner /concert for our Patrons will be Saturday  night the 15th 

Dale Watson is a country music maverick, a true outlaw carrying on where Waylon Jennings left off. A member of the Austin Music Hall of Fame, he stands alongside Waylon, Willie Nelson, and George Strait as one of the finest country singers and songwriters from the Lone Star State.  Dale has established himself as one of the forerunning crusaders against the “Nashville Rash” that has been plaguing the country music industry.  He also championed his own genre of original music called “Ameripolitan”, a genre Dale Watson describes thus: “Americana is original music with prominent rock influence, Ameripolitan is original music with prominent ROOTS influence.”

This year has seen Dale Watson release his 21st album, El Rancho Azul which was recorded at Willie Nelson’s Pedernales Studio in Austin to critical acclaim. This 2nd album on Grammy Award

Tejas Brothers is the original Tex-Mex Honky Tonk band from Ft. Worth, Texas. Founded in 2006, the band has been recognized as one of the best live acts in the Lone Star State, with fans often traveling hundreds of miles to catch a live performance. Committed to providing fans and talent buyers alike with fun, energetic and uplifting music experiences, it’s no wonder the band gets brought to play for events year after year. The group specializes in recording and performing original Americana/Country/Folk music, influenced by Country, Rock, Blues and Tex-Mex.

Gary P. Nunn has been TAKING TEXAS TO THE COUNTRY and Texas country to the world for some 40 years now, establishing himself as an icon of Lone Star music.

We’re excited for the coming first dinner concert of the 2021-22 season!  It’ll be held at the Veranda Event Center with doors opening at 6; dinner 6:30; concert 7ish.
Beat Root Revival is a dynamic duo from England and Ireland who put on an award-winning  energetic performance. 
The concert is sold out to Patrons and Guests only.
Please respect social distancing and wear a mask if you care to.
Please let us know if you’re not using your tickets so we can set up optimal seating for Patrons attending. 
Please note changes in upcoming performance schedule:  Gary P Nunn will be on Saturday, December 11, 2021. Dale Watson moved to Saturday April 2, 2022 at his request.

Another wonderful Nocona Nights is in the books: a great  dinner and an incredible concert by Tommy Alverson and Davin James. 

So many wonderful volunteers made this happen.

In July , patrons will be offered the first opportunity to purchase tickets for the 2021-2022 season featuring four dinner/ concerts.  An amazing selection of old favorites and new performers is being arranged. It is expected the limited number of seats will sell out to patrons, but anyone wanting to get on the waiting list for season tickets should send an email to noconanights@gmail.com

It was decided this morning to move the concert to the Veranda Inn due to weather. Hope to see everyone there. The concert is sold out.
